The Cy-Fair Nutrition Education Program supports student wellness by promoting food literacy, healthy eating habits, and increased fruit and vegetable consumption across campuses.Through our partnership with Ready to Grow Gardens, nutrition education aligns with school lunch menus and Cy-Fair Garden Fresh Fridays using a Harvest of the Month calendar.

How Nutrition Education is Delivered
Nutrition education is delivered through a multi-faceted approach designed to engage students and support campus wellness initiatives.

Nutrition Lessons for Physical Education
Health and PE lesson plans developed by nutrition education coordinator and dietetic interns are available to support instruction at the elementary level.

Harvest of the Month
Harvest of the Month highlights seasonal fruits and vegetables and connects nutrition education with foods served in the cafeteria through Cy-Fair Garden Fresh Fridays. These lessons are developed by the nutrition education coordinator and are available to support physical education instruction

Meet the Nutrition Education Coordinator
Sierra Bell, MS, RDN is the Nutrition Education Coordinator for the district, where she leads nutrition education initiatives across elementary, middle, and high school campuses. She collaborates with schools and community partners to deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that support student wellness, food literacy, and lifelong healthy habits.
